Teacher Bio
Dear Families, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself as your child’s new Kindergarten teacher. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio but have moved around quite a bit since childhood. I have three daughters ages, 9, 12, and 14 who are also a part of the Lusher family this year. My husband recently retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service. As a result, I have a wide range of teaching experiences. I have taught in 4 different states- 2nd grade, 3rd, grade, Special Education, and Kindergarten. When I first taught Kindergarten in Florida, I was hooked. I discovered that Early Childhood was a great passion for me. I went back and completed my Masters in Early Childhood Education while teaching Kindergarten. When I became a mom to my 3 incredible daughters, I took time off to care for them. Four years ago when my youngest was ready to go to school, I was ecstatic that I got to go “back to school” as well. For the past four years, I have been a Kindergarten teacher here in New Orleans. Now, I am ready to begin my 11th year teaching as a part of this wonderful Lusher family and your child’s Kindergarten teacher. I am thrilled that I have the privilege to be at the beginning of your child’s school career. It is an honor that I do not take lightly- I want to be sure that I give your child a strong foundation and more importantly a love for school and learning! Throughout my teaching career I have established some core beliefs that I would like to share with you.
I know we are off to an amazing and memorable school year! I want to thank you in advance for all of your support. Here we go . . . Sincerely, Ms. Silverman |
